TAG Coronavirus (Covid-19) Cover

This Travel Insurance policy will provide cover under some sections of the policy for Coronavirus (Covid-19):

This applies to ALL levels of cover – Standard, Premier and Premier Plus

Section B1 – Medical and other expenses outside of the United Kingdom
If an insured person named on the policy either has symptoms or tests positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) during your trip, this policy will provide cover, as long as, prior to your trip commencing, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) had NOT advised against all (or all but essential) travel to your intended destination.

This applies to ALL levels of cover – Standard, Premier and Premier Plus

Section B2 – Expenses within the United Kingdom
If an insured person named on the policy tests positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) during your trip, this policy will provide cover. However, it will not provide cover for the costs of any Coronavirus (Covid-19) testing.

This applies to SOME levels of cover – Premier and Premier Plus. This does not apply to Standard Cover

Section Y1 – Cancelling your trip due to Coronavirus (Covid-19)
If an insured person named on the policy either:

  1. tests positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) and it is within 14 days of your trip departure date, or
  2. is admitted to hospital due to testing positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) after the purchase of this policy,

this policy will provide cover , if it is necessary and unavoidable to cancel your trip. You will need to provide (at your own expense) a positive official test result confirming your diagnosis of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

This applies to SOME levels of cover – Premier and Premier Plus. This does not apply to Standard Cover

Section Y2 – Cutting your trip short due to Coronavirus (Covid-19)
If an insured person named on the policy tests positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) during your trip and it is medically necessary to cut short your trip, this policy will provide cover under this section of cover. You will need to provide (at your own expense) a positive official test result confirming your diagnosis of Coronavirus (Covid-19), unless agreed otherwise with the Medical Emergency Assistance Company.

All other sections of cover exclude claims directly or indirectly related to a pandemic and/or epidemic (including the fear or threat of such), including but not limited to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

You should read your policy wording, paying particular attention to ‘what you are covered for’ and ‘what you are not covered for’ under these sections and ensure it meets your requirements.

PLEASE REMEMBER: It is essential that you check the latest advice outlined by the FCO at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice before departure. This policy will only provide cover, if prior to your trip commencing, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has NOT advised against all (or all but essential) travel to your chosen destination.
